Climate type
It is Mediterranean with rainy winters and dry summers. The average annual temperature is 17°C, while the average rainfall is 515 mm.
In August, meltemia (very strong northern winds), refresh the atmosphere and cause significant turbulence in the sea.
Soil type
Limestone rocks, caves and steep rocky slopes rising above the sea form the main habitat of the Mediterranean monk seal. Various types of soil are also encountered here. Fresh water is generally limited to the area.
